Following a year of postponement, Scherzo performed Rossini’s The Turk in Italy. This fantastic cast featured Galina Benevich as a Fiorilla, who’s previous engagements have included performing Queen of the Night at Glyndebourne. Directed by Charlotte McKechnie, designed by Laura Pearse and Ruth Darling.
La Cenerentola - Rossini
Our most recent production was our largest and most amibitious yet. We presented La Cenerentola at Longhope on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd July 2023 and recieved 550 guests over both performances. Longhope regular Matthew O’Keeffe returned to conduct, forming a creative team with Rosie Kat & Fenna de Jonge – a young pair from the Royal Welsh College who’s frequent collaborations since 2020 have marked them as a team to watch.
