To deliver Longhope Opera, Scherzo Ensemble assembles an entire company (performers, creatives, technical staff and management) of emerging professionals. The central aim is to help young practitioners to gain professional experience and build confidence, with the associated aims of fostering deeper respect and understanding between theatrical departments and imparting a more holistic understanding of what goes into creating opera. Everyone involved is expected to help with some role outside of their specialism, enhancing team-spirit and, ultimately, insight into the artistic process.

There are many ways to support Longhope Opera.  One-off donors, partners and sponsors, and especially our Scherzo Patrons all play a vital role in our ability to expand our operation to support emerging artists.

One-off donations

Scherzo Patrons

To become a patron of Longhope Opera and Scherzo Ensemble we ask for donations from £1000 a year. Once a patron you can enjoy free tickets to all our performances, have a say in the repertoire we perform, and receive an invitation to an annual Patron's event.
